Plastic products for baling and material handling
Accent supplies several plastic products for securing compressed materials:
These products serve different balers and tying methods. Plastic strapping is a machine-grade solution for demanding applications, while tape and twine provide practical options for suitable manual baling operations. PlasLOC+ is a separate PET baling wire solution engineered for selected balers and material streams.
The correct choice depends on the baler, the material being processed, bale density and weight, tying method and downstream requirements.
PlasLOC+ high-performance plastic baling wire
PlasLOC+ is a high-performance PET baling wire made from recycled PET and engineered with Accent's patented technology to match or exceed the performance of steel baling wire. It is Accent's primary plastic baling wire product and has its own dedicated page because its use requires a technical and commercial assessment of the baler, tying system and application.
In suitable applications, PlasLOC+ can provide 10%+ potential wire savings and up to 90% lower CO2 footprint compared with steel wire on a material basis. Compatibility is application-dependent, so Accent evaluates factors such as material stream, bale density, baler configuration, tying system, OEM requirements and downstream processing before implementation.
Plastic strapping
Accent supplies machine-grade polyester and polypropylene plastic strapping for demanding baling applications. The range is designed for reliable and consistent operation and includes options where high tension, split resistance and weather resistance are important.
Polyester and polypropylene have different handling and performance characteristics. The most appropriate material depends on the baler, bale weight, required tension and operating environment.
Baling tape
Polyester baling tape is available in 9, 13, 16 and 19 mm widths and roll lengths from 250 to 500 metres. It provides a lightweight and flexible tying product for suitable manual baling operations. Common sizes are kept in stock, and selected designs can be supplied with personalised printing such as company names or logos.
Baling twine
Accent polypropylene baling twine is available in 3-ply, 4-ply and 6-ply configurations with coil lengths from 180 to 500 metres. Different strand configurations allow the product to be matched more closely to the baler and bale requirements.
Accent can also supply rewound twine as a direct alternative to baling tape. In suitable applications, this option can be up to 20% cheaper per metre, depending on specification and consumption.
Choosing between plastic products
Plastic products should not be selected solely because they are lightweight or easy to handle. Each format interacts differently with the baler and the compressed material. The starting point should therefore be the machine and process: how the product is fed, how the bale is tied, the amount of expansion after compression and the handling requirements after ejection.
Accent can compare the available options based on the customer's current product and operating requirements. This helps determine whether strapping, tape, twine or PlasLOC+ is the most appropriate route.
